Okay, my wife will not let me change from directtv for anything, but I want high speed internet, and we can’t get DSL because of our location or some such.
I was told by Comcast that you can get cable internet and keep directtv if they are hooked up correctly. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Absolutely true. The two don’t interfere with each other at all. You can keep DirectTV as it is, and just add the high-speed cable Internet service. The only downside to doing it this way is that you don’t get the discount on Internet service that often comes with package deals from the cable company, but it’s not a big difference — probably around $5/mo.
